Keeping the data flow under control
Computer science graduate Alexander Nitzinger already realized during his job at BMW from 2005 to 2013 that the development phases for new products are becoming increasingly shorter and more complex and that communication between development teams via email would quickly reach its limits. Above all, the enormous growth of software applications in cars was the deciding factor for Alexander Nitzinger to focus on software-based solutions. These are intended to ensure that Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers can connect their third-party systems, such as Jira or GitHub, with the quality management systems of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), such as Octane. This enables data traffic to be carried out quickly and securely. In 2013, the computer science graduate founded Nitzinger IT, based in Munich, with the idea of developing a sync tool and bringing it to market maturity.
SyncTool will be rolled out in 2016
After three years of development, the first version of the SyncTool has already been rolled out. The developer tools from Zenrin Co. Ltd. - a Japanese company that manufactures navigation systems, among other things, and is a 1st-tier supplier to BMW - were linked to the OEM's quality management system, and the data was synchronized and transferred. The foundation for the company's successful development was laid.
Since its founding, the Munich-based company has successfully implemented more than 80 projects with OEMs and international suppliers. In addition to providing the sync tool, the IT company offers comprehensive services for the successful onboarding of suppliers. Classic services include partial support with detailed questions about implementation and the provision of all-round, worry-free packages including complete processing. These include a maintenance contract, monitoring and consulting.
Launch of VolaiX
in 2021
Nitzinger IT is now BMW's main supplier worldwide with the SyncTool and the corresponding services related to Application Lifecycle Management (ALM). The company set another milestone with the market launch of VolaiX in spring 2021.
The product supports the complete continuous delivery pipeline with a DevOps toolchain for the implementation and organization of requirements, tests and defects between customer and supplier.
